About

Even before I became a Christian, I had heard many times that God’s Word was living. I was given a ‘Living Word’ Bible and I had often seen Churches named, ‘Living Word Church.’ Later, after becoming a Christian, and when I began to devote myself to studying the scriptures, I did indeed find that God’s Word was living and powerful to change my life and the lives of others.

Like me when I was younger, I  know that many people have not experienced the reality of His living Word. 1 Corinthians 1:18 tells us why. We are told here that grasping the concept of God’s Word as living and life-giving is impossible until you are born of the Spirit. I want to use my writing to open up God’s Word for all to experience His goodness.

Sharing my love for the life-changing power that is resident in God’s Word is my entire motivation for the writing projects that you will find on this website. The “calling” that God has drawn me to is this: to write down and share the life-giving truth of scripture and to demonstrate the transformative power that is resident in His living Word.

NONFICTION– My first book, ‘Being Transformed from Glory to Glory’ is a synopsis of that calling. The title is based on 2 Corinthians 3:17-18. where we are told that by beholding Jesus, who is the Word incarnate, that we will be transformed from glory to glory. So when we ingest His Word, the Bread of Life, He brings His New Life to us. His New Life allows us to experience His goodness where we can begin to become who He destined us to be. –To walk in His plan for wholeness

‘Being Transformed from Glory to Glory’ is a primer to do just that. First, I explain what it means to know God by introducing you to Him, and then guide you to walk in His plan of wholeness. I do this by presenting the major themes, precepts, and doctrines of the Bible. I use simple straightforward writing where I employ anecdotal illustrations, diagrams, and real testimonies to explain the intended message of Scripture. The responses to this book have been very favorable with the word ‘excellent’ used often.

Fictional Works: Many Christians are reluctant to buy novels, thinking that books in this genre aren’t likely to bring spiritual growth or life transformation. I challenge you to consider my books. The stories they contain present scripturally accurate themes, guidance and plausible scenarios that we all encounter. Yet, much care has been taken to make the stories entertaining, as well as exciting and suspenseful with a few twist and turns to keep you guessing. Although the people in the stories are fictional, they face life just as we do. But most importantly, God becomes relevant to these life-like characters, allowing us a glimpse of how God desires to work in our own lives.

Backstories

In 1995, God impressed me to begin writing for Him. I had experienced some writing success, so His urging did not surprise me. The question was would I be faithful to honor Him.

I began writing prose, poetry, op-ed articles and short stories that were Bible-based or Christian themed. I then moved on to writing scripture commentary and devotional type articles. These smaller works developed into multi-page topical thesis projects.

From there, I compiled parts of these writings, along with title specific study, into a full-length manuscript completed in January of 2009. Subsequent editing and the assimilation of reader critiques produced my first nonfiction book, titled Being Transformed from Glory to Glory, that was self-published in 2011. The premise for writing this book came from my conversations with people about their faith, and their understanding of basic doctrines and principles found in scripture. From these conversations, I discovered that many people, if not most, had gaps in their perception of who God is, His intentions for us, as well as the importance of scripture.

By writing, Being Transformed from Glory to Glory, I endeavor to help fill in those gaps. I do this by laying out the essential foundational principles necessary to build your life in Christ. I consider this book a primer for Christian living, as well as a resource for growing in Christ. This in-depth study is non-denominational in nature. Every principle, every expressed thought and every sentence comes directly from, or is concretely backed-up by multiple scriptures. There is nothing presented that is outside basic Biblical doctrine. This book has been reviewed and critiqued by many people for scriptural accuracy and presentation, including four pastors.

FICTION– Early on, I wrote Christian-themed short stories that I might use to illustrate a particular Biblical principle.  From these stories, I was inspired to compile some of them into a longer story with a connecting theme. Before long, I had created a storyline that encompassed a generational family heritage, covering a one hundred year period. That story is being told through a series of books called the His Story Chronicles. Volume 1 is titled, ‘The Journals of Sir John Francis Taylor;’ Volume 2 is titled, ‘The Keys for John Francis Taylor;’ Volume 3 is titled, ‘The Crucible for John Francis Taylor;’ and the fourth volume is titled, ‘The Tent Maker who is John Francis Taylor.’

Future volumes will follow that will eventually tell the complete 100 plus years narrative.

I cannot overstate the abundance of blessing that God has bestowed on my life as I have sought Him with my whole heart. His Word tells us that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This is so true.

In Christ,
