Our Love Dance with God

God to Man—God wants to rescue us from destruction. To get our attention, He demonstrates His love for us. The Bible tells us that it is God’s goodness that brings a person to repentance so that God can save him or her. So in the first part of the diagram below, God is reaching down to draw individual men and women to Him. Revelations 3:20 says that Jesus is standing at the door to your heart and knocking, asking to come in.

Man to God—God has given each person the desire to seek Him and then to worship Him. This innate desire is described in Romans, Chapter 1:18-32. Our love dance with God begins when we respond to His loving kindness as He woos and draws us with His goodness.  We say yes to Him.

God to Man—God responds to our “turning to Him,” which delights Him. By answering the call and letting Him in, we have created a love relationship with the Creator of the universe. Then, as you yield to Him, He orchestrates a transformation of your soul—He begins to change you from the inside-out, something you cannot do for yourself. He sets you free from your past—your mistakes—your emotional pain—your unforgiveness—your wantonness. Surrendering to God’s love enables Him to heal your mind and bind up your wounded heart—He gives you New Life in exchange for your brokenness. As you continue to invest in your relationship with God, your heart’s desire will be to please HIm and love Him back.

Man to Man— Our love dance with God begets intimacy. The Bible says that from this intimate relationship, “rivers of His Living Water” will flow from us. Being redeemed and restored means that you have a story to tells others about God’s goodness. Your healing demonstrates to the people you know that God is real, observable, and tangible. Because you have experienced God’s love, you can lead others to the abundant life that God has for them. This is what Jesus came to do, as described in Luke 4:18-19.
